The name reflects that relationship without confusing the roles. AI is a tool within the creative process. The author determines the ideas, characters, worlds, direction, choices, revisions, and final form of the work.

That relationship also fits the stories themselves. The books of M. Y. AI repeatedly explore intelligence, identity, technology, consciousness, reality, memory, time, and humanity's relationship with forces it does not completely understand.
